The Bread of Deceit indeed!

Robert Neal has a great talent for hooking the reader from the first page of the story until the very end. His descriptive ability puts you in the shoes of Jake St. Clair, the main character, from the beginning, without boring the reader in the process. Even though it is fiction, it parallels today's news stories of terrorism, secrets and lies perpetrated by the very people we expect to trust and respect. Nothing is as it seems, which is frightening and thought-provoking for the reader, to say the least, and I found myself not really knowing who could be trusted once I got the gist of the plot. The book is a fast-paced adventure and an easy read due to the style Neal chose to use. He has dispensed with almost all punctuation which makes the pages of the book look uncluttered and easy to follow. I have read other offerings from this author and have enjoyed his dedication to accuracy. This book shows the same dedication. I would like to see a sequel to this book. I believe there is more to come for some of the characters and I would be interested in seeing what their futures hold.
