Valenzuela upps the game in every way possible.

After the amazing world building that Valenzuela delivered on book 1 of the series The Unfinished World further explores this world and the threats within it through its parallel storylines.
The tension of seeing [Redacted] still being trusted by everyone in Zenith after no one figured out her betrayal at the end of book 1 had me biting my nails on every page she was in, that is where Diego delivers on the political thrills of the story.
Meanwhile Ezra's and company quest for the missing pieces of the Armor of God is where the action, adventure and giant robots punching stuff is found.
Almost every chapter offers a twist and turn and by the last 5 chapters everything comes together in one non-stop climax that does not slow down until the book has ended.
Something I deeply enjoyed was getting a better understanding of the main antagonist motivations in a monologue that is sure to give you the chills.
When you close The Unfinished World all the pertinent mysteries have been solved and the stage is set for an epic confrontation
Everything you loved about The Armor of God is here only this time everything is turned up to 11.
Fun and exciting read from start to finish and absolute must for science fiction and fantasy fans.

Valenzuela delivers on the promise he made with The Armor Of God, and with little to no regard for whatever heart conditions the reader may have. The Unfinished World's narrative expands on the world and characters he fleshed out in part one of his series in a way that one would think was calculated down to the syllable; nothing is superfluous or gratuitous. A perfect second act if there ever was one. There is never a moment where you're not concerned less for the fate of the pilots and their desires than for the world they're fighting for.
Valenzuela continues to prove aserious, transcendental writer in a genre frequently neglected in the more serious spheres of literature, and said spheres are richer for his work.

The Unfinished World is an amazing sequel for the first book of this trilogy "The Armor of God". From the moment I started reading I had a hard time putting it down. The story becomes even more complex, with surprising twists that only leave you wanting more. The Unfinished World leaves you with great expectations for the third and last book, and I can't wait to see what Valenzuela has in stock for us... But if there is one thing I can be sure about is that we will not see it coming.
I would really recommend this book to anyone who likes a good Sci-fi story with compelling, relatable characters; and a great storyline always full of surprises.
