When an adorable bunny named Sweet Pea runs out of spaghetti sauce she decides to grow tomatoes to make her own. After the tomato plants she carefully plants, stakes, fertilizes and waters don't grow fast enough, Sweet Pea gets busy with life, dreaming of a mountain of spaghetti. But with help from author, Marcia Leiter Sweet Pea cooks up so much more than spaghetti, delivering a chuckle on every page. Hidden in the soft watercolor pictures that are reminiscent of author/ illustrator, Richard Scary there is a lot going on. Even Sweet Pea doesn't know about the little mouse family that invades her story and adds to the fun. About the Author
One summer not long ago, Marcia Leiter grew too many tomatoes. She did not make ketchup or tomato pie. Instead, she sat down and drew two ears, dots for eyes and a sundress. Thus, Sweet Pea came to life and began to tell her story. String Bean came along because everybunny needs a good friend to help solve life's difficult problems. The two of them found a way to get rid of their tomatoes...but Marcia did not. She is still working on that. Marcia has studied writing, drawing, painting, graphic design and gardening, in that order. Bunnies make themselves at home in her yard, and mice occasionally scamper about in the attic. All these particulars came together with the creating of Sweet Pea and her Tale of TOO MANY TOMATOES! Between weeding her garden and making pickles Marcia continues to write more Sweet Pea stories. Adorable story with amazing illustrations

What a delightful book! Sweet Pea's dilemma will interest very young children while the detailed, engaging illustrations will keep older children and their parents entertained and amused through many readings. Don't miss the fun details, like Sweet Pea, the bunny reading Watership Down while she's at the beach. I loved this book!

This is a delightful story and the illustrations are exquisite! I think it may be enjoyed by both children and adults. It's easy reading and also has the illustrations are so rich that one can look at them over and over and see new things! I will purchase this again for gifts!
