Beautiful story, well written, great illustrations

A wonderful story which helps children understand the loss of a pet. Finley was a family member, loved by all. His death is very upsetting for the entire family. However, the son's dream clarifies to his family that Finley is really ok and heaven is a great place. Well illustrated, well written, this is a great book for children as well as adults helping to explain death of a pet.

What a beautifully written story and a treasure to remember for grandmother ...

Having owned 2 golden retrieversand many cats, I know first hand how it feels to lose one. Always my pets are anthropomorphic and listen to all my problems, even when I was a child. As an adult, I sat at the table with my golden retriever and we discussed the day's events and shared my dinner. Alex didn't seem enthralled with my conversation, but he listened patiently with his head cocked empathetically. Each time one died, I found the newest book on grief over one's beloved pet. To say this book touched my heart is to put it mildly! What a beautifully written story and a treasure to remember for grandmother and grandson. I recommend this book to anyone who has lost a pet and needs to make sense of its death. Their discoverey together about Finley's happy place in Heaven is truly a gift! Shelly McGinnis
