This new threat, however, seems an ominous foretelling of man's future. A young captain commanding a frigate class ship that transports cargo and personnel gets thrust into an adventurous conflict the human race was not ready to experience! A space probe originating from the binary system of Sirius enters the solar system armed to the teeth ... which proves two immutable facts: we are not alone, and this alien outside entity has malicious intent!

An adventurous Science Fiction worth reading.

I am a SiFi buff, so in addition to reading Books from well know Authors, I will
occasionally pick at random a Science Fiction from an unknown Author to read.
It's like driving in the country and picking at random a road you have never been
down before to see where it goes. You sometimes end up at some interesting
places that way. A friend of mine bought this book on Amazon and after reading it,
lent it to me to read. At first I was unsure because the cover of the book was different
than what I had seen before. My friend praised this book and it seemed like fun to go
down one of those unknown roads in the country. Its true you can not judge a book by
its cover. At the end of the road was this jewel called "The Companion". The book is
long but don't let that scare you. I don't want to give away any spoilers but it is technical
enough for the diehards and easy reading enough for the adventurous. I hope to see
more from this Author.

Good Read!

This was a good read. It is hard to believe it is D Allan Hull’s first novel, it ranked up there with other well known authors of science fiction. The technical aspects and data, that were prevalent throughout, were very realistic and totally believable. The story line kept me hooked, once I started. I had to keep going until the end. I hope he writes more.

Excellent read, exceptional use of scientific knowledge, engaging, and incorporates adventure, sci-fi and a little romance fluidly for an great novel. Definitely recommend to all.
