This book explains the main concepts in the Republic clearly.The questions are thought provoking and often help us figure out the main points before they are explicitly mentioned.Most of the points are repeated(though not in a boring way),several allegories/smilies are explained,and many exercises are presented to test our understanding. Criticisms on various Platonic themes from several philosophers are presented and evaluated. Although I have not read the last four hundred 'locations' (out of 1900 'locations')those concerned with the Gorgias,I assume they will be at least as good as the ones on the Republic.The book is engaging (I read it in three to four hours in one setting),informative and accessible.
