From boot camp to sniper training--what a great read

I really enjoyed following the life of Harold Fitzpatrick, a country boy who joins the Marines. From basic training to sniper school, the journey is interesting as Harold comes to terms with his future. He learns the importance of proper training and the right mind set. I particularly enjoyed his friendship with Chance Inman. They make a good team and it was fun to read about their joint assignments.
Sebastian Roberts obviously know what he writes about -- and the boot camp and sniper training sections are so realistic that I felt I was right there with Harold. I like a book where I learn about things I hadn't known before or had only vaguely understood -- so this section of the book was my favorite. Their joint missions bring a level of excitement to the book that keeps you wanting to read more.
An interesting turn of events happens when Harold needs a security clearance...there is a lot for Harold to come to term. His family, the girl he left behind and the woman he loves.

Developed, believable characters - detailed story line - A great read!

The characters were thoughtfully intertwined and their relationships were developed and believable. I very much enjoyed the story line and appreciated the details (but still in layman terms) in regards to national security, The Marines, and foreign relations. All in all a great read.
