A New Kind of Sci-Fi Romance

Donna Steele has crafted a fascinating story in RTH RISING. Not only do we have a paranormal delight, but we also have a romance, a brand-new world and all of the trials and tribulations that go along with it. Our hero and heroine are at cross-purposes as so many main romantic characters often are, but the difference is the backdrop of a planet controlled by a unique antagonist: a computer designed to stymie growth.
A generations-deep conspiracy complicates Enforcer Kat's efforts to bring in rogue shirker Davd. Unbeknownst to her, Davd has his own reasons for allowing her to find him. Their story plays out against the probability of extinction and the hope for a future that will thrive despite every effort to control and limit human life.
Ms. Steele crafts her story with imagination, verve, and great imagery. Don't miss this debut novel by a new voice in the paranormal/sci-fi romance world.

Fresh and delightful

I've been a fan of Ms. Steele's words for over a decade, so of course I had to read her first novel! She does not disappoint with this offering. It's a little bit Brave New World, a little bit X-Files, and a little bit steamy romance. My only criticism (if you could call it that) is that I could have happily read another 200 pages! Her characters are warm and engaging and the story is intriguing. There is something so romantic in finding the life you never even knew you wanted. I am impatiently awaiting the release of her next novel. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Must read sci-fi for the non sci-fi person.

Great characterizations and storyline that makes you think. I love a book that I can see play out in my mind as I read. Had a hard time putting this book down until I finished it. Wonderfully written by a new author that has a way with characters. I look forward to what she writes next.
