About the Author
Alexander Marmer has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Pace University in New York City. He is an officer for the NYPD. A Sergeant in the US Army National Guard, he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006) and Operation Enduring Freedom (2012). Alexander is a freelance writer for the US Army Fort Drum newspaper, The Mountaineer. He is based in Montgomery, New York.

This story is intriguing from the get go. You ...

This story is intriguing from the get go. You are drawn in to the main character Michael Doyle and can feel his experiences as he goes along. Even when the narrating voice changes, you can see yourself as part of the scenes which combine history, cultural differences, sorry and some humor in a gripping tale from start to end. The historical details are so well placed that you can find yourself searching just as they are and feeling the varying sentiments of anger, pride, frustration and even fear not just of Michael but of Anna and many of the other lesser characters. For a first novel by this author the story truly leave you waiting impatiently for the next one. I can see Michael and Anna becoming household names with the likes of James Patterson's "Alex Cross", Vince Flynn's "Mitch Rapp" and many other protagonists that have been immortalized with both their human flaws and extraordinary personalities in the stories they bring to life. Well done Alexander Marmer!

An engaging book on Egyptian mysteries worth reading!

Immersed in drama and mystery, ‘Four ways to Pharaoh Khufu’ by Alexandar Marmer uncovers the secrets surrounding The Great Pyramid of Giza. Fast-paced and engaging, the book sheds light upon the ancient Egyptian era with its relevance in the present times.
The story begins with New Yorker Michael Doyle flying to Cairo to experience the beauty of the Egyptian Pyramids. But he is unknown to the drama and the mysteries that await him. Alexander has painted a picture of present Egyptian nobles and how even after thousands of years of descending from the pharaohs the secrets and prophecies still continue to exist. The early history of Pharaoh Khufu and also of the other contemporaries of his time are well researched and aptly presented.
Composing a thriller revolving around Egypt can be a difficult task as the facts have to be merged with fiction. And the author has to be credited for the intense labor that has been invested in delivering such historically viable tale. The detailed and informative content regarding the building of Pyramids, the reign of the pharaohs and the Egyptian guards have elaborated a fiction in the light of facts.
The book is gripping from the very beginning, the mysterious death of Amset, an Egyptian noble guarding the truth of Pharaoh Khufu sets the pace of the book. The search of a sacred Egyptian object takes us on a trail and while Michael gets involved in the chase uncovering secrets, the readers are left wondering about the unusual occurrences.
The plot builds gently with two separate storylines. Despite been focused on Egypt, the book takes us to Europe. The significant discoveries help to connect the loose ends of the strings. When Mr. Schulez is poisoned to death and wrongly blamed of stealing a sacred Egyptian object, Michael is motivated to prove the innocence of his friend. The last words Mr. Schulez ‘find four ways…’ strikes that anticipating chord with the readers and the truth hunt for Michael begins.
Amidst the conundrum, Alexander has beautifully nurtured a friendship and bloomed the flowers of love between Michael and Anna. Though the detective plot continues, the essence of love brings a hint of fresh air. Alexander has given utmost importance not only to the facts but also to the characters of the book.
Discovering the secrets of burial of Pharaoh Khufu and unraveling the mysteries of the sacred Egyptian object, the book drives us into a world of unknown and mesmerizes the readers with a thought-provoking and intriguing storyline.

A very fun believable read

Michael has wanted to visit Egypt and the Great Pyramid, the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis outside the city of Cairo since he was a kid. The Great Pyramid is the most immense structure ever built and the only remaining wonder of the seven wonders of the world. He’s been fascinated with the Great Pyramid of Giza and its history, since he can’t remember when. Finally he takes a long overdue vacation to fulfill his dream to tread where Pharaoh Khufu tread, to visit the supposed tomb of that ruler that was raided by thieves, but the trip is more than he bargained for. An old man, a German working on the ventilation system, dies in his arms inside the pyramid. He claims he’s been poisoned and the police think he stole an ancient relic and the mystery begins as Michael chases down clues to find out what really happened. He meets Anna Schultz, the German’s daughter and the two play off each other as they try to figure out the mystery.
I enjoyed this mystery-thriller a lot. The characters are crisp and believable, the bad guys are truly bad and I especially liked the Russian Egyptologist, Kirilov and his theory of how this the structure and where the pharaoh's tomb and treasure is really located.
