Dyner has you engrossed in his characters immediately. You want to know what awaits them. His plot creatively comes together. The Back Room is well written and easy to read. Can't wait for more from this Author! NYC

The Back Room begins as a series of short stories that later come together due to the interactions of the characters in each story as they meet. At first the story felt disjointed and confusing. There are so many individual plots I can't begin to give a summary as to an overall theme because each short story is so different and the characters are diverse.
The advertized genres, action, adventure and crime had to be stretched to the breaking point to fit, although I don't know which classification would describe the compilation of plots more accurately.
Sentence structure is poor, and the writing style is wordy. Internal thoughts need to be in italics, and past and present tense are mixed in the same sentences and paragraphs. In several of the short stories I felt the level of details was excessive and only slowed the story's progress down without adding value.
The plot is complex due to the multiple diverse stories that join together late in the story.
Some of the sentences are too long while the author also routinely injects single to several words as stand alone sentences. Additional fragments and incomplete sentences abound

I enjoyed all the characters!!! They are different and the story line is intriguing. I cannot wait to meet them again. I strongly recommend this book to my friends. This is a great read.
